Three young children who went missing after a day out at Thorpe Park have been found safe, according to police.
The children, identified as Khandi (14), Amelia (nine), and Malik (seven), were reported missing just after 7 pm on Monday after visiting the theme park in Surrey.
They were last seen walking away from the park towards Staines town centre at around 3:17 pm, and it was believed they may have travelled to London.
After a search, they were found in London, and North Surrey Detective Superintendent Trevor Struthers expressed relief, stating, "We appreciate the concern that this incident caused, especially given the children's ages and the fact that they were missing overnight."
He thanked the public and the media for their support and assistance in locating the children, who had been on a planned day out at Thorpe Park. Amelia and Malik are related and had travelled to Surrey from Milton Keynes.
The quick response and cooperation from the public and authorities helped ensure the safe return of the missing children thereby bringing relief to their families and the community.
