UK Uni Watchdog Floats Staff-Student Relationship Ban

A woman has been charged with misconduct in public office after a social media video allegedly showed a member of prison staff having sex with an inmate in a jail cell.
The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation on Friday after being alerted to a video purportedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth. The investigation led to the arrest of a woman on suspicion of misconduct in public office, who was taken into police custody the same day.
Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, has been charged and is scheduled to appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday, according to the Met Police.
HMP Wandsworth is a Category B men's prison located in southwest London. The prison has recently come under scrutiny following a "deeply concerning inspection" last month, which revealed issues such as severe overcrowding, vermin, drugs, violence, and increasing incidents of self-harm.
A watchdog has called for the prison to be placed under emergency measures due to these ongoing security failings, highlighted by the alleged escape of Daniel Khalife in September last year.
