Max Verstappen has secured his fourth consecutive Formula One world title, becoming only the sixth driver in history to achieve such a feat.
The 27-year-old Dutchman clinched the championship after finishing fifth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with Mercedes’ George Russell taking the race victory.
Verstappen’s title was sealed with two races still remaining in the 2024 season, marking another year of dominance for the Red Bull driver. His nearest rival, Lando Norris, could only manage sixth place in the race, leaving Verstappen uncatchable in the championship standings.
Reflecting on his achievement, Verstappen expressed his emotion: "Oh my God, man. What a season. Four times. It was a little bit more difficult than last year."
Russell’s commanding performance in Las Vegas delivered his third career victory, finishing 7.3 seconds ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton, who raced impressively from 10th on the grid to secure second place. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz completed the podium in third, with teammate Charles Leclerc finishing fourth.
Verstappen’s remarkable season adds another chapter to his already stellar career, cementing his place among Formula One legends.
