U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren called for breaking up Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) and Indian retailers demanded a government probe of the company after a Reuters investigation showed the e-commerce giant had copied products and rigged search results in India.

You would recall that senator Warren of the United States is at the head of a house investigation on Amazon. She had earlier accused Amazon of peddling misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines and treatments through its search and “Best Seller” algorithms. She had consistently raised the alarm that Amazon had some false and misinformation about FDA-authorise KN95 masks. They had advised that Amazon take aggressive action to stamp out COVID-19 misinformation.
More than ever before Amazon needs to tighten its acts as accusation mounts internally from the US and externally by retailers and the anti-trust agency in India.
