Analyst Views

Wall Street paused on Monday to mark the Memorial Day holiday. There was no trade on stocks as U.S. equity markets was closed. So also the U.S. bond market was also closed, so no trading in Treasuries.

However, the U.S. stocks turned in a broad rally on Friday ahead of the long holiday weekend with all three of the major averages rising.

Stocks closed higher for the week, breaking a seven-week losing streak, the longest such stretch since 2001.

The S&P 500 rose 2.5%, increasing its gain for the week to 6.6%. That's the biggest weekly gain for the benchmark index since November 2020.

Technology stocks were a big factor pushing the market higher. That sent the Nasdaq composite up 3.3%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.8%.

European Market, The investors' appetite is currently mixed on the Euro bourses. London's FTSE increased by 0.37% to 7,627.99, Germany's DAX declined by 0.43% to 14,513.61 while France's CAC followed suit by 0.71% to 6,515.76.

Asia Market, Asian stocks The investors' sentiments are mixed and currently positive as the gradual opening of Shanghai breath a fresh breath on the markets. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index declined by 0.33% to 27,279.8, China's Shanghai climbed by 1.19% to 3,186.43 while Hang Seng in Hong Kong jumped by 1.38% to 21,415.2.
