UK car manufacturing experienced another sharp decline in November, making the ninth consecutive month of falling production.

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), UK factories produced 64,216 cars last month, down by 27,711 units compared to November 2023—a 30% drop.

This decline makes November 2024 the worst month for UK car production since 1980 when just 62,728 vehicles were manufactured.

The ongoing slump underscores persistent challenges facing the UK automotive sector, including supply chain disruptions and shifting market dynamics.
