Analyst View
U.S. stock indexes-The signing of President Biden's $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill into law triggered a downturn in the market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 12 points, or 0.03%, while the Nasdaq Composite index declined 0.04% and the S&P 500 was unchanged. The light selling comes after all three of the major averages on Friday closed within 1% of their all-time highs as investors looked past the hottest inflation reading in more than 30 years.

Biden Infrastructure Bill is designed to supply funds for upgrades to the country's roads, bridges, and broadband, among other things. The second piece of Biden's Build Back Better agenda, which focuses on social programs, remains stalled in the House of Representatives.

Selling of U.S. Treasurys caused the yield on the 10-year note to rise 4 basis points to 1.62%.

Royal Dutch Shell plc will eliminate its dual-share structure and move its tax residence to the U.K. The company will also remove "Royal Dutch" from its name.

Commodities, West Texas Intermediate crude oil ticked up 9 cents to $80.88 a barrel and gold fell $1.80 to $1,866.10 an ounce.

European bourses were stronger with Britain's FTSE ticking up 0.05%, Germany's DAX 30 climbing 0.34% and France’s CAC 40 advancing 0.53%.

Asia, China’s Shanghai Composite index slipped 0.16%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index rose 0.25% and Japan’s Nikkei 225 jumped 0.56%.
