A British Airways (BA) flight from Heathrow to Austin, Texas, was delayed for two hours after an alleged altercation between two women over a "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) hat.
The conflict reportedly began when one passenger demanded that the other remove her red MAGA cap, leading to a verbal dispute that escalated into physical confrontation. Concerned about potential disruptions during the flight, the captain requested police intervention.
Metropolitan Police officers arrived at the scene, and both women were escorted off the plane. Although they made counter-allegations of affray, neither was arrested, and the dispute reportedly continued after they disembarked. The plane, originally scheduled to depart at 12:10 pm, finally left Heathrow at 2:11 pm without the women onboard.
A BA spokesperson apologised for the delay, while a police spokeswoman confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing. This unusual altercation highlights heightened tensions around the U.S. political landscape as the election approaches.
