Former President Donald Trump has launched a new T-shirt featuring an image of himself working at a McDonald’s drive-thru, following a visit to one of the chain’s locations in Pennsylvania.
The shirt, labelled "MAGADonald's," showcases Trump in a McDonald's apron, waving from the window, and is being sold by his campaign as part of a promotional "McGift."
Trump's campaign website highlights this as a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that Trump is "the first and only 2024 presidential nominee to work at McDonald’s" and blaming Harris for increased meal prices. The T-shirt is being marketed to Trump supporters, although it’s not offered for free, despite the "gift" label.
McDonald's, however, has distanced itself from any political affiliation, clarifying that while they allowed Trump to visit, they do not endorse political candidates.
In a statement, the company said, “McDonald’s does not endorse candidates for elected office and that remains true in this race for the next president. We are not red or blue – we are golden,” underscoring their neutrality.
This is not the first time Trump has used merchandise tied to controversial or headline-grabbing moments, as he continues to leverage his public appearances and media coverage to generate support and revenue for his 2024 presidential campaign.
