A pregnant woman staying at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida, was stabbed 14 times, reportedly over a $2 tip for a pizza delivery.
Brianna Alvelo, 22, is charged with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault, according to court records.
The victim, her boyfriend, and her five-year-old daughter were celebrating a birthday at the motel when they ordered a pizza on Sunday. Alvelo, the delivery driver, did not have change for a $50 bill, so the woman ultimately tipped her $2.
Later, the victim heard loud knocking at the door. She told police that two masked individuals, one armed with a revolver, forced their way in.
The man ordered the boyfriend into the bathroom, while the other assailant, believed to be Alvelo, attacked the woman with a pocketknife.
The victim tried to protect her child, throwing her onto the bed before attempting to call for help, but Alvelo allegedly smashed her phone and continued the assault. The attack ended when the man ordered Alvelo to leave.
The woman suffered 14 stab wounds and discovered she was pregnant while being treated at the hospital.
Authorities are still searching for the man involved in the incident.
