Waitrose has introduced a two-bar per customer limit on Lindt’s highly sought-after Dubai-style chocolate, aiming to regulate stock levels as demand surges.
The supermarket chain implemented the restriction due to the overwhelming popularity of the chocolate, which features pistachio and knafeh filling—a combination that went viral on TikTok.
Lindt launched the chocolate bar in December, capitalising on the growing trend of Dubai-inspired chocolates. Since then, its popularity has skyrocketed, leading to supply challenges.
Steve Dresser, CEO of Grocery Insight, shared a photo of a sign in Waitrose that reads:
"No more than two bars per person, please… because we want everyone to have the chance to enjoy our delicious chocolate."
A Waitrose spokesperson confirmed:
"Due to the incredible popularity of this product, we want to ensure as many customers as possible have the opportunity to try it."
