Breaking News: Former Labour Deputy PM John Prescott Dies at 86

John Prescott, Labour's former deputy prime minister, has passed away aged 86 following a battle with Alzheimer's.

His family announced he died peacefully at his care home on 20 November, surrounded by loved ones and the jazz music he cherished.

His wife Pauline and sons Johnathan and David described representing Hull as his "greatest honour" and thanked the NHS and care staff for their support during his later years.

The family has asked for donations to Alzheimer's Research UK in his memory.
