Donald Trump has officially been sworn in as the 47th president of the United States at the Capitol Rotunda, marking a remarkable political comeback following his conviction on felony charges.

In his inaugural address, Trump proclaimed the start of "the golden age of America," outlining priorities such as reshaping trade policies, tightening immigration controls, and bolstering national security.
He also sharply criticised his predecessor, President Joe Biden, who was in attendance.

Immediate Actions on Agenda

Trump plans to waste no time in executing his agenda. Later today, he is set to host a high-profile event at the Capital One Arena. He is expected to sign a flurry of executive orders, including:

  • Border Emergency: Declaring a national emergency at the US-Mexico border to fast-track immigration policies.
  • Climate Agreement Withdrawal: Officially pulling the United States out of the Paris climate accord.
  • Pardons and Commutations: Offering pardons to nonviolent January 6 defendants and commuting the sentences of others involved in the Capitol unrest.

Trump’s bold moves signal the start of a contentious presidency, poised to reshape US policies and international relations.
