Small Businesses Groping in the Dark as Google Reviews Disappear

Small businesses have been reporting that numerous authentic Google reviews have disappeared in recent days, leaving many frustrated and uncertain about the impact on their online reputation.

For small firms, Google reviews are essential in establishing credibility and attracting new customers. However, business owners say reviews are vanishing without warning or explanation from Google.

Clive Read, owner of Goldmanread mortgage broker, explained that his company has lost several hard-earned, genuine reviews, with no clarity from Google on why they were removed.

Scott Gallacher, director at financial planner Rowley Turton, echoed similar concerns, stating: "Google reviews are vanishing and firms are being left in the dark."

While some businesses keep records of their reviews and can track removals, Gallacher warns that many may be losing valuable feedback without even realizing it.
