The United Kingdom has strongly refuted Russia’s accusations of espionage following the expulsion of two British diplomats from Moscow.

Russia claimed, without presenting evidence, that the diplomats had engaged in intelligence work, a charge the UK has dismissed as malicious and baseless.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that the diplomats had provided false information upon entering the country.

The announcement was made through state news agency TASS, adding to growing diplomatic tensions between the two nations.

In response, the UK Foreign Office issued a statement rejecting Russia’s allegations:

“This is not the first time that Russia has made malicious and baseless accusations against our staff.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry summoned a British embassy representative, where it repeated its espionage claims. Additionally, Russian officials warned British citizens to provide accurate information when applying for visas, emphasizing that any escalation from London would be met with a “mirror response”.

These events mark the latest in a series of diplomatic conflicts between the UK and Russia, as tensions over security, intelligence operations, and geopolitical strategies continue to escalate.
