A large-scale drone strike targeted Moscow and surrounding areas, resulting in disruptions in major Moscow airports and injuring a woman in a nearby village.
Russia's defence ministry claimed it intercepted 70 drones, including 34 near Moscow, framing the event as an attempted "terrorist attack" by Ukraine.
The strike sparked fires in suburban areas, leading to evacuations and an injury to a woman in her 50s, who suffered burns from the debris and resulting fires southeast of Moscow.
Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky airports diverted at least 36 flights, resuming normal operations shortly after.
Simultaneously, Ukraine faced an unprecedented attack by Russian drones. According to Ukrainian officials, Russia launched a "record" 145 drones overnight, primarily targeting residential areas in the southern port city of Odesa, injuring at least two people.
Ukrainian air defences managed to intercept 62 drones, while an additional 67 were reportedly disrupted through electronic jamming measures, causing them to deviate from their targets.
Additionally, Ukraine claimed responsibility for an attack on a Russian arsenal in Russia's Bryansk region, where 14 drones were reportedly intercepted.
This surge in drone warfare reflects an intensifying phase in the ongoing conflict, with both sides increasingly leveraging drone technology for offensive operations and strategic disruptions.
