London’s Monday morning commute has been significantly disrupted by multiple delays and suspensions on the Underground and Overground lines.
Part of the Elizabeth line is currently suspended between Stratford and Shenfield, while the section from Whitechapel to Stratford is experiencing severe delays due to an emergency incident on the tracks. Similarly, London Overground is without service between Romford and Upminster following another emergency.
The Circle and District lines are also affected, with severe delays caused by a signal failure at Whitechapel, while the Waterloo and City line is experiencing minor delays due to vandalism on the route.
In the background of these delays, a planned wave of strikes was partially called off after the RMT union cancelled its industrial action. However, Aslef’s strike remains scheduled and will impact Tube services this Thursday and the following Thursday, likely leading to additional disruptions for commuters.
