Tyson Fury has voiced strong criticism of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), accusing the organisation of discrimination against Travellers, following his removal from their rankings after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury, known as "The Gypsy King" and proud of his Traveller heritage, expressed his disdain for the IBF, suggesting that they are "racist towards Travellers." He vowed that he would never fight for their title again, even going so far as to say he would burn the IBF belt if he ever received it.
Fury lost his WBC heavyweight title to Usyk in May in a close split decision, and was subsequently dropped from the IBF's top 15 rankings, a move that has left him frustrated. He emphasized that he is not interested in reclaiming the IBF belt, currently held by Daniel Dubois, despite the possibility of a future all-British showdown between the two.
Fury's strong words suggest a deep personal grievance with the IBF, highlighting his pride in his Traveller identity and his belief that the organisation has treated him unfairly.
