Commodities, Oil briefly hit the $80 per barrel level giving ExxonMobil and Chevron a boost. Oil prices hinged up in response to the uprising in Kazakhstan, an OPEC+ country.

Job data, On the economic calendar, weekly jobless claims rose by 207,000, above the estimate of 195,000 and slightly higher than the prior week's 198,000. On Friday U.S. employers are expected to have created 400,000 new nonfarm jobs last month, almost double November’s much weaker-than-expected tally of 210,000. The unemployment rate is anticipated to fall to 4.1%.  

Treasury yield, The yield on the 10-year Treasury note, a benchmark for setting rates on mortgages and other loans, rose to 1.76%. 

Tech stocks, Facebook bucked ongoing selling among large-cap tech players including Google, Amazon and Apple.

Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin slipped hit the $42K level before inching up. 

In the European market, the market continued with a sustained downward trend across the board characterised by sell-offs dominating the market.  London's FTSE slide by 0.1% to 7,442.66 while Germany's DAX also slumped by 0.64% to 15,949.32, France's CAC also slipped by 0.24% to 7,234.23.

Asian Market, The Asian market trading was mixed, the market opened with Japanese Nikkei sliding by 0.33% to 28,478.56, Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped by 1.82% to 23,493.38 while China Shanghai dipped by 0.18% to 3,479.54.
