Cars have been our closest companions since they first existed in the late 1800s. Whether you need a car for luxury, speed or to move around, there is more than enough to serve the right purpose as our automobile engineers are always on their desks designing and redesigning supercars to tickle your fancy, colour your lifestyle and of course, give you value for your money. Various automobile brands are locked in an endless battle to continually unleash exotic and luxurious car designs just to keep their brands at the top of the food chain.
In 2009, the Bugatti Veyron was launched at $1 million making headlines all over the world, being one of the first cars priced at the million mark. But today, many brands have broken the jinx with the release of extraordinarily luxurious and fast cars worth millions of dollars.
Let's dive into the top 10 most expensive cars in 2024 starting from the rear.

Maisto Bugatti Divo wields a 2019 Engine: 8.0L W16 Quad-turbo Power: 1,119 kW / 1,521 hp Torque: 1,600 Nm / 1,106 lb-ft Weight: 1,995 kg / 4,398 lbs 0-100 kph: 2.4 seconds Top Speed: 380 kph / 236 mph.
This speedster was built as a tribute to French racing driver Albert Divo, famous for his Targa Florio victories in a Bugatti during the 1920s. Limited to a production of just 40 units, this supercar stands out with a distinct aerodynamic profile, a diecast metallic body fitted with plastic parts and emboldened free-rolling wheels. Despite its bold impression, this supercharged car's weight is significantly reduced thereby making it sleek and ready for the sprint whenever it is called upon.
The Omola Coupe was introduced a few years ago. This exotic speed master has no respect for time as it lifts off the ground from 0 to 60mph within 6 seconds with its 7-speed sequential transmission that adds to its lightweight profile.

The Omola was unveiled as a coupe in 2020 with a determination to elevate the Huayra to the pinnacle of track performance while retaining road legality.
The name “Imola” comes from the famed Imola circuit in Bologna, Italy where Pagani does most of its vehicle testing. This proud-looking machine has its ego bloated by a 6.0-litre Mercedes-AMG V-12 engine with an output of 838 horsepower that surpasses that of the ‘standard’ Huayra and its coupe counterpart.

“We decided to use the simple linear style of the Huayra Coupe as the starting point. We made the Huayra Cadalunga longer and smoother as if it had been caressed and moulded by the wind, to design lines that were even more elegant than the Coupe…” Horacio Pagani noted.

Pagani’s designs have never been known to disappoint clients and viewers worldwide. He makes it an obligation to wow the world with esoteric vehicles that seem to ask the question “What next?” Only five customised units of this beautiful beast were produced and were sold out before they could make it to launch.
The conception of Pagani Codalunga dates back to 2018 when two Pagani collectors wanted Horacio Pagani to make a longtail version of the Pagani Huayra of the Le Mans race cars from the 60s. It was this collaboration that led to the birth of the Pagani Codalunga (Italian for ‘long tail’).

This is yet another beastly companion you never want to part with. This quirky low-key giant causes a steer with its arrogant look whenever it makes its grand entrance into any neighbourhood or official corridor. Little wonder why it is loved by everyone, especially celebs like JayZ and of course, this iconic machine has pitched its tent at the top of the foodchain tenaciously even though it made its debut in 2005, refusing to leave the limelight for newer brands.

Commissioned by Fulda, a Goodyear subsidiary, the Exelero is a bespoke design to modernise and exaggerate the Maybach SW 38 and perhaps the Maybach 57 platform.
Fulda wanted a supercharged car that could hit 350 km/h to test the durability of their tyres. The Mercedes-Maybach Exelero was subsequently gifted a twin-turbo V12 engine with a whopping output of 690 HP and 752 ft-lbs of torque to assuage Fulda’s insatiable thirst for speed. What more could be expected of such a glamorous vehicle with extraordinary features?
A Spacecraft or a vehicle? First shown in 2019, at "The Quail, "The Bugatti Centodieci (Italian for “110”), is a beautiful super-limited hypercar, that emerges from the iconic Bugatti EB 110 and celebrates the brand's 110th birthday.

It would certainly be unwise to drop your guard when an alien-looking weapon like the Bugatti La Voiture Noire gets too close for comfort.

“With the completed La Voiture Noire, we are demonstrating once again that we develop the world’s most sophisticated hyper-sports cars,” President of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann boasted. “With its use of visible carbon fibre in jet black, the coupe’s breathtaking sculpture looks especially elegant.!” He added.
The La Voiture Noire was built with a 16-cylinder engine with a displacement of 8 litres that develops 1,103 KW of torque. Little wonder why Winkelmann thinks the demon-looking machine presents a challenge to all sophisticated hyper-sport cars.

The Rolls Royce Boatail evolved from an amalgam of the Rolls-Royce Ltd Boat Tail of the 1900s and the racing yachts of the early 20th century. The name ‘Boat Tail’ was derived from the rear of the vehicle which resembles that of a yacht.

The dashboard is restricted to a few colours carefully blended to avoid assaulting the senses yet portraying luxury, comfort, and intelligent craftsmanship. The red accent that drives the interior connives with the high-precision metal work that lines up the vehicle from the front grill, sprinkled to the rear to create an illusion of protection for the deep-seated occupants in the cabin even when the roof is open.
The novel electro-chromatic technology incorporated into the roof is second to none and creates a standard for other brands to meet.

The choice of colour for this brilliant beauty was inspired by the black baccara rose, a special type of hybrid tea rose flower clad in deep burgundy.
This vehicle “represents a bold daring sophisticated personal expression” said, Alex Innies, the President of Coachbuild Design, Goodwood, West Sussex.
“It took three years to move from the formative development through to the production of the piece you see in here” Alex added at the unveiling of the docile beast.
This mystery machiIe is the future that was sought after for three whole years during which it was moved from page to stage. If we do agree with Alex, then it would be safe to conclude that the La Rose Noire is indeed a sophistication that makes a bold statement that will continue to echo in time and space.
