Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced a £300 million investment to expand its factory in West Sussex, aimed at increasing production capacity for bespoke and electric models.
The move comes in response to rising demand from its affluent customer base for highly personalised vehicles and prepares the company for its transition to an all-electric future.
The factory upgrades will enhance Rolls-Royce’s ability to fulfill intricate customisation requests, such as 18-carat gold sculptures, complex embroideries with hundreds of thousands of stitches, bespoke wood veneers, and innovative holographic paint finishes.
Additionally, the investment will expand the company’s exclusive Coachbuild programme, which allows select clients to design entirely original vehicles.
The expansion is also geared toward supporting Rolls-Royce’s electric vehicle strategy. Following the success of the Spectre, its first all-electric vehicle and the most popular model in 2024, the company plans to unveil a new fully electric model later this year.
This underscores Rolls-Royce’s commitment to aligning its luxury offerings with a sustainable, battery-powered future.Sky news
