3 Israelis Arrested Over Flash Bomb Attack on Netanyahu’s Home

November 17, 2024

Israeli police have detained three individuals in connection with a flash bomb attack targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea.

Two flash bombs fell into the residence's garden on Saturday, though neither Netanyahu nor his family were present, and no damage was reported.

According to Israeli media, one of the suspects is a brigadier general in the military reserves, known for participating in anti-government protests over the past two years.

This incident follows heightened regional tensions, including a Hezbollah drone strike on the same residence in October. Like Saturday's attack, the earlier incident occurred while Netanyahu and his family were away.

The ongoing unrest comes against the backdrop of Israel's military offensive in Gaza, which has resulted in a reported death toll nearing 43,800, predominantly women and children, since last year.

The conflict has further spilled into neighbouring Lebanon, where hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated, adding to over a year of intermittent cross-border clashes.
